You know, it's really interesting to not blog. Lately, I've been pondering the intricacies that are involved with not blogging. Here are some of my thoughts:
First, it makes me realize how many people are interested in my life. Not having a blog intrinsically makes me more mysterious. Maybe I can find a good way to exploit this...bwa ha ha! Oh, sorry -- that was Tamerlane speaking.
Second, sticking with the Tamerlane theme, it seems like Tamerlane is more fiesty now that I've officially started a blog by not blogging. He's plotting all sorts of revenge tactics. Of course, he'll be pretty lucky to pull stunts past Ghengis. That Ghengis always foils my plans.
Finally, I now have a new component to my daily routine. Basically, because I don't blog, I have to check my blog for updates on my life. Is it weird that I learn things about my life by visiting my blog that I use for not blogging? Wait, did that even make sense?

So if a blogless person starts a blog, what do they discuss? Theoretically speaking they could mention that they were in Colorado for a conference the previous week and got to hike a little in the Rockies for the first time. Or perhaps they could describe the misadventures experienced trying to get to a friends wedding in Texas, complete with weather delays, mechanical problems, and canceled flights. They could of course put a happy ending on such a story, a just in time dash to a seat moments before the (luckily) late ceremony.
Then again, perhaps a person should put philosophical musings on the relative merits of different forms of communication on their blog. They could discuss how much a blog may or may not be able to bridge gaps of distance and time effectively. Whether reading about someones day in a message posted for all to see is really as meaningfull an interaction as an email sent to a single person, a phone call, or even a face to face visit? Or is communication on such a level better because it can force greater clarity of thought and allow a meeting of intellect in spite of all the emoticons?
On the other hand, maybe such musings are out of place in a blog, perhaps it is a more convenient (and less annoying) way of broadcasting information to groups of people who might be interested in a particular person's activities or state of mind. With so many issues to consider, one might never actually get to creating a blog. Or it could simply be that some people dislike writing, especially when it is for public consumption.
On a side note, it seems that boasting on blogs about the relative prowess of different historical warlords does occur. While this might seem odd, it might also be unwise as some could construe such comments as a challenge. Whether a warlord might rise from below to accept such a challenge is of course a dubious proposition, but the world is full of wonders, both of positive displays such as indications of friendship & good humor as well as more negative things including elaborate plots for revenge.
Heehee. :)
