Throwing down the (chocolate) gauntlet!

I hereby challenge Katie W to a chocolate eating contest!

I was severely disappointed when I learned that after all these years of claiming to be a chocoholic, she is really a chocolate lightweight! Indeed, Saturday night she had the chance to drink a delicious mug of homemade hot chocolate, and she failed miserably! Lindsey and Carl both had finished their mugs before Katie even finished half of hers.

Now I know that I am the true champion of chocolate eating, and I will crush Katie the pretender when we meet on the field of battle!

"Katie the pretender"?!?

Todd, that's pretty harsh. Maybe I should take away my racquetball offer. ;)

As for the chocolate eating contest, you're on! This time, I won't eat 3 lbs. of other food before I get to the chocolate. :)

I heard she hurled on five different people when she went salsa dancing right after that too. ;)

For the record, even Carl & Lindsey's finishing times weren't very impressive. Perhaps the pretender should have to deal with them before facing The Blogless.

Upon further consideration, one might conclude that the consumption of chocolate could indeed be reduced depending on prior food consumption. In addition, it should be noted that the speed of consumption is not necessarily the most important diagnostic for a chocoholic. If one is consuming a homemade chocolate treat, taking time to savor it could indicate a greater appreciation of chocolate than some philistine who swills a high quality beverage. In terms of overall chocolate addiction however, Katie is not necessarily at the very top. Perhaps a better metric than straight consumption would be a battle of wits and might with the victor taking home chocolate spoils. The viciousness of competition would then reveal the true depths to which one is willing to sink in order to obtain chocolate. Just a thought.
